Assistant Service Manager

The Opportunity

Lonestar Forklift is looking for an Assistant Service Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Service Manager with the overall management of the Service department, ensuring smooth operations of the department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Assistant Service Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Service Manager in managing the performance and development of the Service team, including driving accountability and facilitating training
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by leading or supporting LEAN initiatives, improving department efficiency
  • Proactively manage the service fleet through vehicle purchases, repairs, and maintenance
  • Conduct weekly toolbox meeting with the Parts and Service teams
  • Work with other business units to grow key customer accounts; explore ways to provide new services to our customers
  • Actively address customer service issues and customer disputes
  • Closely manage Service department key performance indicators and provide weekly updates on progress to senior management
  • Ensure branch is meeting safety standards and reinforce the importance of safety with employees

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery and material handling equipment
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented mindset, including the ability to work with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

The base pay range for this role is: $64,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Houston, Texas.
