Regional Sales Manager

Department: LUSA-New Equipment
Location: Tualatin, OR

The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a collaborative Regional Sales Manager to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As the Regional Sales Manager you will be responsible for building and managing a sales team, with a key focus on driving revenue and profitability for our business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Regional Sales Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Create reports focused on analyzing sales activity and trends
  • Hire and develop a sales team based on market penetration and profitability requirements
  • Provide ongoing sales training, coaching, and mentorship for Sales Representatives
  • Manage monthly commissions for Sales Representatives
  • Create targets for your sales team, providing ongoing coaching to attain results
  • Use the CRM system to monitor and actively manage sales pipeline metrics
  • Work closely with business units to target large competitive accounts
  • Identify and target complex and large accounts to be managed by the Sales Manager
  • Visit customers alongside Sales Representatives when necessary
  • Ensure Sales Representatives are focused on driving rental revenue for the business
  • Partner with manufacturers when directed by the General Manager
  • Handle elevated customer concerns on behalf of the Sales department
  • Stay informed about competitor activity where possible, including market strategies, product developments, and pricing formulas

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an outside sales role within the material handling equipment industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in sales
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, or Marketing preferred
  • Experienced and confident in cold calling and telephone marketing
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Superior Microsoft Office Suite skills, including experience using MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is an asset
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory as required
  • Highly organized and a self-starter with strong time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
