Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive)

The Opportunity

Hansler Industries is looking for a Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Brockville, Ontario. As the Shop Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of heavy equipment repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As a Shop Technician your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
  • Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs
  • Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs
  • Completing work order forms
  • Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
  • Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipment
  • Following established warranty processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • At least three years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
  • Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification is considered an asset
  • Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
  • Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is: $27.81 to $31.93 per hour depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Brockville, Ontario.
